Key Benefits

Key Benefits
Fertility & Reproductive Function
Zinc contributes to normal fertility and reproduction.
Zinc also contributes to normal DNA synthesis.

Hormonal Balance & Regulation
Vitamin B6 contributes to the regulation of hormonal activity.

Pregnancy & Maternal Tissue Support
Folic Acid (Folate) contributes to maternal tissue growth during pregnancy.
Folate supplementation increases maternal folate status — low folate status is a risk factor for neural tube defects.

Cell Division & Reproductive Health
Folate, Iron, Magnesium, Vitamin D, and Zinc all play a role in the process of cell division, which is crucial for early embryo development.

Red Blood Cell Formation
Iron and Vitamin B12 contribute to normal formation of red blood cells, helping to prevent anaemia during pre-conception and pregnancy.

Antioxidant Protection
Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Zinc, Copper, and Selenium contribute to the protection of cells from oxidative stress, supporting egg quality and reproductive health.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about OFEX Capsules

Who is OFEX designed for?

Women who are trying to conceive, planning a pregnancy, or already pregnant. It brings together 20 vitamins and minerals with inositol, L-arginine, folic acid and iron in a single daily capsule.

How much folic acid does it contain, and is that the right amount?

Each capsule provides 400µg of folic acid. That matches the amount UK health guidance recommends for women trying to conceive and through the first twelve weeks of pregnancy. If your GP has advised a higher dose because of your individual circumstances, follow their advice rather than ours.

What is inositol doing in a fertility supplement?

Inositol is included as part of the formulation alongside the vitamins and minerals. We're only permitted to make health claims for nutrients with authorised claims, so we describe inositol as an ingredient rather than attaching a benefit to it. The authorised claims for OFEX come from its vitamins and minerals: contributing to normal fertility and reproduction, to the regulation of hormonal activity, and to maternal tissue growth during pregnancy.

Is OFEX suitable for vegetarians or vegans?

No. The capsule shell is gelatin from a halal bovine source, so OFEX is not suitable for vegetarians or vegans. It is halal certified.

Can I take it while pregnant or breastfeeding?

OFEX is formulated with pregnancy in mind and includes folic acid and iron at levels intended for that stage. That said, pregnancy is exactly the time to check with your midwife or GP before adding anything new, particularly if you are already taking a prenatal supplement — you don't want to double up on vitamin A or iron.

How and when should I take it?

One capsule daily with a meal. Taking it with food helps with absorption and makes the iron easier on the stomach. There's no need to cycle it — it's designed for continuous daily use.

Can I take OFEX alongside another multivitamin?

We'd advise against it. OFEX is already a complete multivitamin with minerals, and stacking two together risks exceeding safe upper levels for nutrients like vitamin A, iron and selenium. If you're taking anything else, bring both labels to your pharmacist.

Can't find the answer you're looking for?

Get in touch and we'll help. For anything relating to your pregnancy or fertility treatment, your midwife or GP is the right person to ask.
